More and more, it occurs to me that non-profit law foundations, public defenders, and pro-bono legal aid societies have altogether given up the Constitutional, civil, and human rights of their clients, and turned stateside to represent only the politically charged interests of establishment police and prosecutors. It’s the same Democratic Party imposing that tired old Civil War-era trope of “states’ rights” in lieu of the Constitutional rights of individual citizens who have become subject to arbitrary arrest, criminal prosecution, and conviction for every cause, at the whim of every lady and gentleman of the district.
A sovereign citizen, 42-year-old Dennis Duane Vann, threatened the lives of police officers in Maplewood, Minnesota, on Feb. 20 with a pig-shaped explosive device painted with the words “Fuck the Police,” according to police and local news reports.Southern Poverty Law Center: Sovereign Citizen Threatens Police With ‘Pig-Shaped’ Bomb
Sovereign citizens believe they can choose which laws to obey or ignore, and deny the legitimacy of the judges, juries, law enforcement and elected officials most U.S. citizens acknowledge. They’re known to form their own “common law” courts, with fake judges and even fake marshals.
What on earth is wrong, prima facie, with being a “sovereign citizen?” That is nothing but a civic-minded adult individual who is minding his or her own business. And why is that so “threatening” to establishment law enforcement? Why have defense attorneys raised no objection to our present sham system of “participatory” or “non-adversarial” political justice that affords no actual possibility of defense to arbitrary criminal accusations against their clients?
Common law courts with fake judges? No way! Those bloody cops needs to get real. People are simply trying to hold on to their property, house and home, scratching the soil with their fingernails under a corrupt city hall that isn’t even interested in maintaining a proper registry of deeds or issuing so much as a cash register receipt for the payment of assessed property taxes.
The lovers of government per se government have no answer to this.
And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. … But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.1 Timothy 5:13, 1 Peter 4:15
And now it is the decennial government census season for 2020, yet another excuse for even more government busybodies to nose into the people’s private affairs.
